Renee has arranged for Bailee and about 5 other little girls to sing Christmas carols at a nursing home on Dec. 20. Great, right? It was until I accidentally volunteered to play the piano to accompany them. She had asked a friend who declined and I made the mistake of telling her I had taken lessons for 7-8 years. What have I gotten myself into?
So Renee dropped off the sheet music which thankfully is fairly simple versions of about 8 Christmas songs (except the Chipmunk Song which has 4 flats...like I even knew that song well to begin with). So when I attempt to practice the songs, I learn that that bottom 10-12 keys on Bailee's keyboard aren't working. I mean we don't even have a piano and I am practicing on this keyboard which has about 3 octaves on it. So since I can't hear any of the left-hand keys who knows if I'm even practicing it right. All I can say is 1) it's a good thing I have 3 weeks to practice and 2) I'm glad it's older people who probably can't hear that well and should be focusing on the cute kids!
